What's stored on your device

This site uses your browser's local storage to remember your theme (light or dark), your language (English or German), and your cookie-consent choice. These stay on your device, are not sent to any server, and are not used to track you. No advertising cookies are set. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time via "Cookie settings" in the footer.

Analytics (Google Analytics)

If — and only if — you accept cookies, this site loads Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-83D5PHYBN2) to understand, in aggregate, how the site is used (pages viewed, approximate region, device and browser). It sets analytics cookies (e.g. _ga) and your IP address is anonymized. The data is processed on my behalf by Google; transfers to the USA are covered by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6 (1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw consent anytime via "Cookie settings" in the footer, which stops analytics; decline, and Google Analytics is never loaded.

Hosting and server logs

The site is hosted by webgo GmbH in Germany. When you visit, the host's web server may automatically record standard access data (e.g. IP address, date and time, the page requested, browser and operating system) in server log files. This is necessary to deliver the site securely and reliably and is based on a legitimate interest under Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR.

Contact form

If you use the contact form, the details you enter (such as name, email and message) are sent to HubSpot, my CRM, so I can respond to your enquiry and keep a record of our correspondence. HubSpot Inc. processes this data on my behalf as a processor; transfers to the USA are covered by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1)(b) and (f) GDPR, and I use the data only to handle your request.

Newsletter

The newsletter is operated via Substack. If you subscribe, your email address is processed by Substack to deliver the newsletter; you can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every email. See Substack's own privacy policy for details.

This site links to external services (GitHub, Medium, Substack, Hugging Face). When you follow such a link, the respective provider's privacy policy applies; I have no control over their processing.

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict and port your data, and to object to processing. To exercise any of these, contact me at the email above.
